Since
2003, Trusted Logic has been working in partnership with ARM to define
a framework for interoperable security that exploits the security
features inherent in ARM’s TrustZone™ hardware architecture. TrustZone™
Software – an evolution of Trusted Foundations™ Software optimized for TrustZone™ cores – is the result of this
co-operation.
Providing an integrated hardware/software approach for a stronger
security chain, TrustZone™ Software allows developers of middleware for
mobile phones and other consumer embedded systems to incorporate the
most advanced hardware and software security functions at minimal cost
and time-to-market, while providing the basis for a Trusted Execution
Environment from which to launch sensitive services (e.g. DRM, VPN...).
ARM also
distributes Trusted Foundations™ Software on ARM-based chipsets.
In order
to increase competitiveness, the French Government is encouraging
Competitiveness Clusters: regional networks of companies cooperating to
create synergies in their specific field.
Such Clusters facilitate communication between companies working in
similar fields, encouraging exchanges that bring a number of
advantages:
• Greater visibility of each company’s innovations;
• Ability to participate in complex projects thanks to facilitated
access to a wide range of relevant expertise;
• Enriched strategic vision and greater technological innovations.
In July 2005, the French Government gave official recognition to
several such Clusters. Trusted Logic participates in two of these, both
of them falling under the category of “global” Clusters:
MontaVista®
Linux® and Trusted Foundations™ Software complement each other: while one is a
rich OS offering advanced functional features, the other concentrates
advanced security functions in a single module. This separation of
security functions from the rest of the environment allows for greater
control and security, resulting in easier certification that is
completely independent of any OS upgrades that may occur.
Together, MontaVista® Linux® and Trusted Foundations™ Software offer an advanced
and highly secure foundation on which trusted applications can run.
Both help reduce development costs and time-to-market, while combining
interoperability with the ability to differentiate.

Silicon
Trust
Trusted
Logic joined the Silicon Trust in November 2003.
|
Silicon
Trust is a partnership program, sponsored by Infineon Technologies,
which aims to raise awareness of silicon-based security. Through
participation in this program as well as Trusted Logic’s technological
partnership with Infineon Technologies, the two companies have
developed complete and secure open-technology based smart card
solutions, which include the jTOP
for Cards platforms
ported and optimized on Infineon chips. Two such solutions have already
obtained Visa approval:
• jTOP
v1 on SLE 66 series chips
(ref. LBINFI0371)
• jTOP
v2 on SLE 66 series chips
(ref. LBINFI0370)
Telecom
Valley was created in 1991 in Sophia Antipolis as an association of
companies in the fields of telecommunications and ICT. Its aim is to
facilitate communication, partnerships and knowledge sharing so as to
stimulate innovation and synergies among the members of the community.
Trusted Logic has already been recognized as an innovator in the field
of telecommunications with the “Trophy for Innovation”
for its Trusted Foundations™ Software (formerly known as "TL Security Module").
By joining the Telecom Valley, Trusted Logic multiplies its
opportunities for further innovation.

Trango
Virtual Processors
Trusted
Logic and Trango Virtual Processors teamed up in 2007 to provide a
complete security solution for the embedded systems market.
|
Trango
Virtual Processors provides embedded virtualization solutions. Its
TRANGO Hypervisor provides multiple secure execution environments,
which can run in parallel on a single CPU. Combined with Trusted
Foundations™ Software, it offers the joint benefits of security and
multi-core
chips on a low-cost, single-core chip.

VISA Infineon Sony Trusted Logic
Alliance
(VISTA) |
This
alliance was formed in February 2003 in order to create an elaborate
dual purpose platform encompassing a Java™ engine powered by Trusted
Logic’s jTOP
core and the FeliCa™
native Operating System supplied by Sony Corporation.
This was achieved in 2004 with the first VISTA product: a card unique
in its kind, allowing cardholders to bear a single card in their
wallets for both EMV transactions (VSDC application in ROM) and
convenient contactless transactions such as electronic money and public
transportation (through FeliCa™ contactless interface). Apart from
making two cards in one, the VISTA product also provides a pioneering
cross-access functionality, which allows access to the Java Card™
GlobalPlatform framework in the FeliCa™ contactless environment, as
well as access to the FeliCa™ operating system through the traditional
ISO contact-based protocols.
The first VISTA product was nominated for the 2004 SESAMES SOFTWARE
Awards. The first VISTA product and a derivative product have already
obtained Visa approval:
• jTOP
/FeliCa™ VISTA v1 on SLE66
series chips
• jTOP
/FeliCa™ VISTA v3 on SLE66
series chips.
