Card Providers to benefit from launch of GlobalPlatform Card Compliance Program

GlobalPlatform announces the availability, from 1 May 2002, of the core components of its Card Compliance Program, including test plan, test suite, test tool and supporting documentation. GlobalPlatform worked in conjunction with ICC Solutions to develop and implement these core components, and had the test suite verified using Trusted Logic's Java Card / GlobalPlatform Simulator.

Sun Microsystems Inc. announces a security breach identified by Trusted Logic in the Java Runtime Environment Bytecode Verifier

The vulnerability in the Bytecode Verifier may be exploited by an untrusted applet to escalate privileges and thus take the overall control of a remote workstation. Sun acknowledges Trusted Logic for bringing this issue to its attention.
