TL Security Module Architecture

A portable and interoperable security framework for greater security and easier certification.

TL Security Module
is a portable and interoperable framework for running security services that isolates security services from their environment. Incorporating unique security countermeasures and techniques, it allows top-level security at minimal development cost, implementation risk and time-to-market, while facilitating differentiation through a plug-in engine for security services.

The TL Security Module was awarded the "2004 Trophy for Innovation" organized by Syntec Informatique (French national trade union of ISVs) with the support of France Télécom.

Isolation
Strong separation between secure and non-secure areas.

Secure Channel
Controlled communication between secure and non-secure areas.

Hardware Abstraction Layer
Abstraction of platform-specific elements for facilitated porting
(usually a matter of weeks).

Services
Trusted implementations of security services.

Plug-in services
Simple addition of security services, written once and for all.

Chips supported

TL Security Module is compatible with any ARM-based chipset. TrustZone™ Software, an evolution of TL Security Module distributed by ARM, was designed to take advantage of the TrustZone™ architecture.

TL Security Module has been ported on Texas Instruments chips.

Thanks to a Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), TL Security Module can be ported onto any chipset, and take advantage of specific security features
.

Operating Systems supported

TL Security Module has already been ported to several Operating Environments including Windows CE.

TL Security Module is OS agnostic and can be ported to any embedded OS.
