Telecom

In order to bring the telecom flavor to its jTOP platform, Trusted Logic has teamed up on an exclusive basis with Bantry Technologies, recognized in the mobile industry for its telecom tools and (U)SIM software. This partnership gave birth to jTOP maXim, a best-of-breed combination of jTOP with the GSM-Ready interface and Java Card™ SIM/USIM applets provided by Bantry.

jTOP maXim not only brings a price-optimized answer to a SIM commodity market with standard 2.5G SIM functionality, but is also prepared for the challenges to come with 3G USIM functions, and WIB™ 1.3 and S@T value-added µbrowsers. A special feature of jTOP maXim is its ROMizing capability: telecom operators’ applications can easily be added to ROM (provided there is sufficient memory left) to create customized jTOP maXim products.

Available on chips ranging from 32K to 128K EEPROM, the jTOP maXim product range satisfies everyone from price-sensitive customers to those seeking the latest value-added services. The top-of-the-range jTOP maXim 128K USIM includes a simple mechanism that allows the operator to select which µbrowser to activate, thus reducing the operator’s inventory burden (a single supply for multiple µbrowsers). It also includes value-added functions such as Multi-IMSI and extended phonebook, while ensuring backward compatibility with 2.5G SIM. Current users include China Mobile and STC (Saudi Arabia).
