Systems Unveils one of the World's Smallest Mobile PCI-PED POS

- Innova Card, a leading provider of secure hardware and software
solutions, today announces that the way5000, the newest product from
WAY Systems, has been PCI PED approved.
The way5000 mobile point of
sale terminal from WAY
Systems is touted as one of the most compact, integrated wireless POS
devices on the market. The pocket-sized terminal measures 5 x 2.25 x 1
inches / 127 x 51.15 x 25.4 mm and can donwload new applications or
updates over-the-air (OTA). The way5000 works anywhere a cell phone
works and is certified for use on the networks of all major U.S.
processors. The terminal has both magnetic stripe and contact-type chip
readers, large backlit display, joystick for menu navigation and extra
ports for USB and peripheral antenna. The device will be available to
ship later this year.
The way5000 features USIP®,
the powerful Secure
32-bit microcontroller developed by Innova Card that provides a wide
range of security features such as DPA/SPA resistant cryptographic
functions (AES, 3DES, RSA, ECC), external on-the-fly memory encryption
and active tamper detection and protection.
USIP® platform comes with a
compliant GPD/STIP
middleware from Trusted Logic that enables to quickly develop a secure
POS terminal complying with the demanding EMV and PCI-PED requirements.
The unique combination of USIP and GPD/STIP middleware gives the
way5000 an unmatched flexibility for running multiple feature-rich
applications and answering specific customer's requirements.
