Trusted
Logic extends commitment to GlobalPlatform by upgrading its membership
to "full" status
28
February, 2008
Trusted Logic, a provider of secure open software for
embedded systems, has upgraded its status to become a full member of
GlobalPlatform. This level of membership entitles the company to take
an active role in shaping and contributing to the development of the
industry-leading, open and interoperable GlobalPlatform Specifications
via participation in all of GlobalPlatform's technical committees, task
forces and working groups. GlobalPlatform develops and maintains
specifications for the entire smart card infrastructure, covering
cards, devices and systems.
Already an active member of
the GlobalPlatform Device Committee, Trusted Logic now has
representation on the Card Committee, the Mobile Task Force and the
Compliance Working Group. The company thus fully participates in key
areas of development that are central to its core business interests -
cards, terminals and the mobile market. It intends to share its
expertise and market knowledge to further the future evolution of the
GlobalPlatform Specifications in line with industry requirements, while
continuing to benefit commercially from the technology. Trusted Logic
has already developed a number of products which support GLobalPlatform
Card and Device Specifications.
Dominique Bolignano, CEO of
Trusted Logic, comments: "Trusted Logic has a strategic business
motivation to become fully involved within the GlobalPlatform Card and
Device Committees and the Mobile Task Force. In response to customer
demand, we already base many of our solutions on GlobalPlatform
technology, so it is logical for us to be part of the infrastructure
development, by joining the dynamic industry collaboration efforts
facilitated by GlobalPlatform's technical committees. We look forward
to taking a more active role as a full member of the organization."
Bob Beer, Chairman of
GlobalPlatform and Vice President of Business Development at Datacard
Group, adds: "Trusted Logic has demonstrated a commitment to providing
customers globally with the widest possible choice, by its full
engagement within, and active deployment of, GlobalPlatform technology.
The company has already made a valuable contribution to the work of the
GlobalPlatform Device Committee so we welcome its decision to extend
its participation and offer expertise and resources to the further
advantage of all GlobalPlatform committees."

the GPD/STIP Mobile profile and offers a generic, open and trusted
execution environment, which is required to support high-security
mobile applications such as secure device management, digital rights
management, broadcast service protection and m-Commerce.
Trusted Logic's jTOP® for
